Poet Eileen Myles and Perdu invite you to bring reading materials and join them for a collective silent reading experience. Lifting its concept from the feminist genderqueer artist collective LTTR, the radical read-in proposes reading as an activist undertaking, bringing together a fleeting community of people through shared individual experience.
The read-in will be followed by a screening of Eileen Myles’ and David Fenster’s short road trip movie 'The Trip' (17 min). In the film, Myles guides us through the majestic, rough-hewn landscape separating Texas towns Marfa and Alpine. Inspired by Jack Kerouac’s spoken score of Robert Frank’s 1958 poetic classic 'Pull My Daisy', and Louis Malle’s 1981 talk drama 'My Dinner With Andre', Myles discusses daily life and political realities with their childhood puppets, Oscar, Bedilia, Montgomery, Casper, and Crocky.
Read-in from 16:00 to 18:00, followed by a screening. After the screening there will be time for a chat, a chip and a drink at the bar.
Screening in English
