With a title taken from Vicente Huidobro’s “Altazor” and Inspired by Cecilia Vicuna’s text “Language is migrant” curator Eva Posas (MX) and food artist Asli (TR/TH) explore the intertwined relationship between food, language and land. They investigate the depth of these connections through back-and forth conversations. In these conversations Eva Rasgado’s recipe for cheguiiña, an original recipe of Zapotec food culture become the starting point of this collaboration. The two explore the dimensions of the cultural realm of food in a world of migration; how language and food change and adapt.
During the evening, Eva and Asli will present their three chapter of research through a conversational and written performance, where the audience will unravel the package sent by post prior to the event (to receive a package, see below). The audience will be guided through the instructions of the performers.
The evening will be concluded with a poetry reading by Dewi de Nijs Bik (NL), who is interested in forms of writing that activate connective possibilities and that allow for a dynamic, reciprocal reading experience. In her poems, she explores how (cultural) identity is produced historiographically, and the role of food and food preparation as cultural carriers.

About the speakers
Eva Posas (Mexico)is a curator. Working across curatorial and editorial boundaries, she is interested in the immateriality of language, in identity and memory as a form of production, and in Zapotec culture.Through exhibitions, books, and public art projects, her work has investigated publishing as an articulation of social complexities, storytelling as a form of curating, the crossing between public and private spaces, and the politics of subtleness as a subversive methodology. From 2020 to 2021 she is curator-in-residence at Jan Van Eyck Academie.Asli Hatipoglu (1990, Turkey) is an interdisciplinary artist and a chef/cook. Her conceptual dinners often create situations, bringing with it food history and contemporary means of critical adaptation with sustainability in mind. Through subjects of hunger, science, politics, spirituality, mental health, Asli dives into many perspectives one can take food as a central point. She moved from Istanbul to Asia when she was 15, where she finished her IGCSE and IB diplomas in international schools. She finished her BA in Textile Art and Design at Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam. She has held various conceptual dinners including “Blind Eten” at Mediamatic (Amsterdam) during Museum Night, “Fantasies” a blind-folded 7 course dinner in collaboration with musician Roy Amotz in various places such as Berlin, Amsterdam, Tel-Aviv, Geneva and Bern since 2017. “Pop-up all you can eat Gyoza” conceptual dinners have been her subjects of research since 2016. She is currently working on the subject of fermentation at the Jan Van Eyck Academie FoodLab.
Dewi de Nijs Bik (NL) holds an MA degree in both Modern Dutch Literature and Comparative Literature. Her poetry has been published in magazines like Poëziekrant and DW B. Next to writing her first book, due to come out in 2022, she programs Friday evenings for Perdu, does interviews for the monthly magazine Moesson, and works as a desk editor for a scientific publishing house.
